David English

Researcher

David joined eftec in June 2021 as a researcher, helping with a range of projects. He completed his undergraduate studies in Economics with Environmental Studies at The University of Edinburgh in 2021. He also studied environmental economics at The University of Auckland in New Zealand. His dissertation, ‘Optimising Resource Allocation for Threatened and Endangered Species Conservation in The United States: An Econometric Approach’ created new metrics by which to measure the impact of funding and planning resources on the recovery of species listed on the US Endangered Species Act. This research was sponsored by the United States Bureau of Land Management, a federal natural resource management agency of which he is a former intern. Additionally, he has also worked for the New Zealand Department of Conservation.

His academic and work experience with environmental science and economics has taken him across four continents, and his interests and experience in the fields include biodiversity, conservation, sustainable development, and natural resource management.
