"Socio-economic analysis (SEA) and Analysis of Alternatives (AoA) for an Authorisation application for 1,2-Dichloroethane (EDC)", for OLON Spa, 2016: eftec worked with Apeiron-Team (lead contractor) and the Economics Interface Limited (TEI) to develop a REACH authorisation application (dossier) for OLON Spa where 1,2-Dichloroethane (1,2-DCE) is used as a solvent in the manufacture of Epirubicin, an active pharmaceutical ingredient used for the production of a medicinal product for cancer therapy (in particular breast cancer) marketed worldwide.

eftec led in the development of the socio-economic analysis (SEA) report which demonstrates that the benefits of continued use to EU society outweighs the risks to human health and the environment, as well providing justification for a long review period.  eftec also supported in the development of the analysis of alternatives (AoA) which is fully integrated with the AoA into one report.
